- The degree should be in line with the standards accepted by the UAE Ministry of Education.
2. Professional Experience:
- A minimum of two years of post-qualification clinical experience in optometry is typically required.
- Experience should be acquired after completing the educational qualification.
3. Passport Size Photo and Passport:
- A passport size photo with a white background is required.
- Ensure your passport has a minimum validity of six months.
4. Academic Documents:
- Degree certificate and transcripts showcasing your educational qualifications.
- School Leaving Certificate (SLC) and Higher Secondary Education (HSE) certificates.
5. Professional Certificates:
- Good standing certificates from the National Health Professional Council (NHPC).
- Registration certificate or license from the NHPC.
- Valid work experience certificates reflecting your professional history.
6. Mark Sheets:
- Provide all-year mark sheets to demonstrate academic performance.
7. Additional Requirements:
- Attested degree certificate from relevant authorities.

- Utilize the “Self Assessment Test” section on the DHA website to perform quick eligibility verification.

3. DHA Unique ID and DataFlow Registration:
- Upon completing the eligibility verification, you’ll obtain a DHA Unique ID.
- Use this ID when registering on the DataFlow website, where you’ll receive a DataFlow case number.
- Ensure to upload all necessary documents for Primary Source Verification (PSV), a process that typically takes 30 to 45 days.
- During this period, utilize your time to prepare for the examination.
4. Note on Charges:
- Be aware that all processes, including registration and verification, are subject to charges.
5. Computer-Based Test (CBT) Overview:
- The DHA examination for optometry is now Computer-Based (CBT).
- You’ll face 100-150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be answered within a 2-3 hours timeframe.
- Achieving a minimum score of 60% is necessary to pass the exam.
- You’re allowed three attempts; failing all attempts will result in a two-year suspension from further exam attempts.
6. Choosing Exam Dates:
- Candidates have the flexibility to choose favorable exam dates at their convenience.
- Results are typically published within a week of completing the examination.
